NFL YOUTH FLAG comes to Bellevue, TN
A new opportunity for the youth of Nashville, Bellevue and surrounding areas. I will try to kick off the NFL Youth League in 2007. There are alot of specifics that are still in the works. As for now, Registration can be done by clicking on the below button link which says "Register your Child". This is a manual registration process and gives the league a good feel for the overall interest. The League will attempt to have all 7 divisions for the age groups. However, it is a possibility that there may be an age group with not enough Children registered and may be cancelled. If your child is registered for this group, any fees paid will be returned immediately once the decision to cancel is made. Each paid registrant will receive an email advising them that the age group will not participate and that your paid fee of $?? will be mailed within the next 2 days.

When you complete the manual registration, you are authorizing the league to handle the online registration once it is opened to all participants and coaches. Also, it will be your responsibility to forward the set fee amount once notified by league of the amount and deadline. Please note that because you complete the Registration, your child is not actually officially registered until fee is received in league office.

IMPORTANT: When submitting payment to league you must enter Childs Full Name in the memo section of any check or money order. Once the Insurance for the league is in place all on line registration through NFL Youth Active account will be open and the league will handle your child's online registration if you have already registered and paid the league.

All children will be placed in the divisions according to their age by September 1st of the year. Once the Coach Meeting takes place a coach will be notifying all parents concerning practices days and times and all the specifics of the league start dates, game days, and parents code of conduct. If there is any additional information that parents, coaches, players, etc... wish to know, you can always check the NFLYouth page which has its own separate button in left column of all pages of this site and gives some important information, contact #'s and emails and particulars of the league organization and news.

Now, why I am doing this. I have run an adult league for about 12 years and know that in the spring and in fall, even when tackle football is going on, there are kids for whatever reason just do not have the opportunity to play. I believe that this is a great tool for the youth to actually have a chance to learn the basics of football and basically get them ready to move into the contact aspect of the game. Not every kid can play tackle football, and not every parent is always comfortable throwing their child out on the field with others wearing equipment. This can be a huge growing or training ground for those kids who may not be sure about whether they want to play contact football.

My focus is the create a league that can serve as a "Non-Contact" avenue for all kids ages 5-14 to learn football basics and progress in the greatest sport in America. This league will be open to all kids ages 5-17 and for those kids 5-14, there are additional regional and national events available for those who qualify from the league to have the opportunity to compete against teams from all over the country in Orlando, Fl. WOW! what an experience.

Each Child is provided Accident Insurance which is provided by the NFLPA and is included in the paid league fee. Also, included in the fee is the cost for a NFL Reversible Jersey and Flag Belt for each Child. Also each team will be provided with 2 Jr. Footballs for practice. Each team will use their own football for their game and referee's will inspect before each game.

I am excited and hope to get this league to grow to a level that will help all levels of football locally and tap into those kids who just have not had the opportunity. I am confident that this can be a great tool for coaches, teams and leagues in the Nashville area to pull from and also to help their current players develop the skills needed.
